This is the genius behind RastaVacations. If you knew me you would know one thing: I did not write that.
Who said that "genius and insanity go hand in hand?" Ever wonder which side you're on?
A few years ago I got a bright idea that it would be awesome if you could go online and book vacations that you could smoke weed on - and came up with the name for it - RastaVacations. I even got a website builder and made a website- a BIG website. That's where the insane part comes in: do you know how hard it is and how much time it takes to build a HUGE website with no website experience, offering vacations to beautiful places I had never visited? In an economic (let's be "p.c.") downturn?
Well, when you have a burning desire for something sometimes fate steps in.
I kept chipping away at it. I tweaked, I read, I posted, I read, I emailed back and forth, read some more - and did this for several years. I was, thanks to the economy, able to devote more and more time to it as there was less and less work in my field. One by one, I met others who were closely connected in the places I wanted to go. My dear friend's husband is Jamaican, his mom a 4 star chef. If only we could put this together. Then…
The best thing imaginable happened. An unexpected windfall allowed me to start traveling. We went to Jamaica. I saw, I touched, and I smoked…heavily. We found beautiful locations and wonderful things to do- not typical tourist stuff but "must do" things offered alongside our exclusive events. We knew we were off to a good start.
Then, I send a link request to a guy in California who turns out to be very well versed on laws there and on web building. He's also developed a great delivery service and knows who to assemble to make a vacation allowing most guests to obtain a medical marijuana recommendation in California and to choose from a large selection of medical marijuana in a very efficient, hugely enjoyable manner, allowing guests to relax and enjoy their stay while experiencing one of the most memorable events any long-term, weed loving hippie wannabe could experience. Seriously. He also fixed my site to make it web friendly and put California RastaVacations on the map.
About the same time, I bumped into a high school bud who travels the world and is hooking me up with some VERY cool, unique Amsterdam and Europe packages. Another friend's brother is connected to places world wide…
People started coming out of the woodwork with ideas and hook ups- and so it goes, and here we are.
It's been a great trip and it gets better all the time. Meeting others who think the same and sharing their leisure time with them is just the greatest reward there could be. I'm glad I was, and remain, insane. I warmly welcome you to RastaVacations.com.
